Meet Product Management and International Outreach Intern, Gol-Dann Slater! Gol-Dann recently graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Learn more about some of his favorite experiences working at Alariss:
Q: What is your favorite project that you’ve worked on?
Many of the projects at Alariss have been interesting, and I’ve learned a lot about tech and global business. However, my favorite project so far has been the Alariss Interview Scheduler. Our team is working on creating an app that Alariss can use to schedule client and candidate meetings, even if they are in different time zones. I’ve enjoyed the whole process so far, from designing prototypes to writing code, and can’t wait to see this project through to the end.
Q: What is something you’ve learned about global business?
I’ve always wanted to have a global career, and was hoping to start that off by serving in the Peace Corps in Kenya after graduating. Unfortunately that was delayed due to the pandemic. Before starting this internship I never thought I would have the chance to talk with global executives and former ambassadors, but at Alariss I’ve learned a lot about global business, including how to connect and network with people from across the world.
Q: How has your overall experience at Alariss been?
The best parts about Alariss are the projects and the people. Whether you’re interested in tech, business, recruiting, or marketing, there is a project for you. There were many career development talks at Alariss as well, from international development, to product management, showing that Alariss really cares about your professional development. Nick and Joyce are amazing and always there if you need support, and they’ve created a wonderful group of intelligent, curious, and humourous interns that make the experience even better!
